When I was cycling around the centre of Rome I realized that it was quite easy to bump into particular shops which showed above the entrance a tinplate with the symbol of a ‘sanpietrino’ and Urbs Mirabilis written on. As I discovered later on, this plate could be shown only by shops with more than 50 years of activity. Since then I’ve been searching around for those precious places and more than that I’ve been discovering magic sites in my own city, just when I thought I had seen everything. These groups of paintings is my sad song in honour of all those craftmen who have been leaving the city centre for years towards the outskirts or have just stopped working. The real tragedy is that leaving their job they have deprived the world of their hands and those wonderful things and shapes they were able to create. Roma amor I sing for you: stay with us a bit longer.
